The installation pivots on the very last action in the last scene of Henrik Ibsen’s play A Doll’s House: Nora slams the door and leaves – where does she go and what kind of emancipation do we expect that she achieves? By manipulating this last stage direction and playing with structure and narrative, other kinds of identification are opened up.
Using the voices of four women who are allowed to improvise within certain limits and exploiting repetition and shifts of meaning, the work resembles a radio play in which the circular and non-linear are incorporated in relation to time, space and narrative.
